What building in Scugog involves
Most properties in the Township rely on a private well and a septic system. Where those go depends on the soil and the slope, and it affects where the house and driveway can sit. Near Lake Scugog and the wetlands around it, Kawartha Conservation may need to review the plans.
Building permits are issued by the Township of Scugog. Farm properties can also have rules about setbacks from barns and livestock. We look at all of this before design starts, so the house fits the land.

The Henley team helped reverse engineer and descope some of the project to suit my new affordability. They handled this with class and professionalism which im sure created extra work for them. Do I need a septic system to build in Scugog?
Almost all rural properties in the Township do. The septic system is designed for your soil and house size and approved with the building permit. We plan it together with the house.
