Building on a rural Scugog lot
Under the Ontario Building Code, an accessory building larger than 10 square metres needs a building permit. The Township of Scugog sets the size and setback rules for accessory buildings on rural and agricultural lots. The garage has to stay clear of the well and septic bed. Lots near Lake Scugog or wetlands can be regulated by Kawartha Conservation.
