With neighbours close on both sides, the width of the lot facing the water is limited. So the rooms people use most go on the lake side, and the garage and front porch face the road.

Outside, the upper deck has glass railings so nothing blocks the view.
Part of the deck is covered by the roof, with a timber post at the corner, so there's a spot out of the sun and rain that still looks straight out at the water.
