Sturgeon Lake is a big, open lake with wide views and plenty of boating, close to Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls and Lindsay. It suits families who want a cottage they can drive to easily for weekends, and use well beyond the summer.

We build new cottages here that are made for a full house: bedrooms for grandparents and grandkids, a kitchen that can feed everyone, and room near the water for boats and toys.

Four-season cottages on Sturgeon Lake

Many families on Sturgeon Lake want to use the cottage at Christmas and March break as well as summer. A four-season cottage needs a well-insulated shell, heating that can run all winter, a water system protected from frost and a driveway that can be plowed.

Parts of the shoreline are low and flat, and some areas are flood-prone, so we also check how close and how low the cottage can be built before design starts.

What makes a cottage four-season?
Insulation, heating that can run all winter, a water and septic system protected from frost, and year-round access. We plan these from the start if you want to use the cottage in winter.
Is my Sturgeon Lake lot in a flood-prone area?
Some low parts of the shoreline are. The conservation authority's mapping shows where, and we check it during the lot review.
Can you build a dock with the cottage?
Yes. On the Trent–Severn Waterway a dock usually needs Parks Canada approval, which we plan for with the cottage.
