President

Michael Henley is the president of Henley Contracting Ltd. As an experienced General Contractor, Michael knows how to navigate the intricacies of development, municipal regulations, and building code. His hands-on approach and commitment to quality have helped shape the company’s strong reputation. This has resulted in his recognition as a renowned custom home builder responsible for some of the most impressive properties in the Durham Region and the City of Kawartha Lakes. Karen Henley

Office Manager & Real Estate Sales Representative

Karen Henley brings over 35+ years of experience in business development, sales, and marketing to the Henley Contracting team. With strong knowledge of construction, improvement costs, architectural trends, and interior design, she provides valuable insight for both resale and new home projects. As a licensed Realtor®, Karen understands the Oshawa and Durham Region market inside and out. Having lived and worked in the community for decades, she offers guidance on land development, municipal regulations, and local market trends. Her commitment to exceptional customer service and personalized attention ensures every client receives trusted advice from start to finish.

Nick Henley

Project Manager

As Project Manager for the Henley Contracting team, Nick's focus is on project design, estimating, obtaining permits/approvals, and assisting with the construction implementation. Nick is a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from McMaster University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree. Nick's previous career as a Civil Engineer focused on project management for various Home Building and Land Development projects throughout the Durham Region. Nick's wide range of experience and skills provide him with an understanding of all aspects of the Henley Contracting and Henley Homes projects, which allows him to be actively involved in all facets of the business operation.

From start to finish it took just over three weeks for the team to demolish our ugly, dated, and dark kitchen, and fully rebuild a stunning bright and light new space, designed with style and functionality in mind.

The Henley team was very responsive (shout out to Tom and Michelle), and kept us fully informed throughout the project with the Buildertrend app. They uploaded photos and notes to the app daily, so we always knew where the project was at and how things were progressing. We loved the transparency of this, especially not being at home through the reno.

The pandemic hit me a bit financially which stressed me out about the project. The Henley team helped reverse engineer and descope some of the project to suit my new affordability. They handled this with class and professionalism which im sure created extra work for them. Communication was excellent and finished product is fantastic. I will never work with or recommend another contractor again
